Here are three simple job hunting tips for you to begin your week!

  1. Before sending out your résumé to employers, have a trusted friend (somebody who will tell you things exactly the way they stand - no B.S.) read over it for accuracy, spelling, and grammar. It's remarkably easy to miss mistakes on your own résumé.
  2. While you're at it, have that same trusted friend do the same for your LinkedIn profile.
  3. Eat a good meal before your interview. It's tough to concentrate on an empty stomach.

Here are three simple job hunting tips for you to begin your week!

  1. Do you know what a job aggregator is? This is a category of job boards, such as Indeed and SimplyHired. These boards not only sell job ads, they also scrape job postings from other places such as company websites and job boards. You'll find a broad variety of job postings on these sites.
  2. Proofread your contact information on your résumé. It would definitely stink if an employer couldn't reach you because you transposed two digits in your phone number, or because you misspelled your email address.
  3. Be aware what anybody providing a job reference on your behalf will say about you. If you don't know how potential references feel about you, ask them for some observations on what they perceive as your strengths and your opportunities (because potential employers would ask them the same about you).
